GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION
| W3PIE is located at Coordinates: 39.898546N x -79.729896W at Grid FM09dv in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania and has been on the air since 1938. From the beginning with CW (morse code) and AM it's members have been active in all facets and modes of Ham Radio. Bouncing radio signals off the moon and ionized tails of meteors, relaying signals through orbiting Amateur Satellites, A.P.R.S. and ATV (Amateur Television) are just a few of the exotic modes used by members today. W3PIE is an official member of the American Radio Relay League (A.R.R.L.) and is affiliated with the Fayette County Emergency Management Agency FCEMA, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), RACES, ARES and SKYWARN. W3PIE is involved in numerous aspects of Fayette County to include, but not limited to assisting the Uniontown Police and the Uniontown Police Reserve Unit in times where additional manpower support and communications are required during parades, special events, emergencies and during severe weather incidents or natural disaster incidents. |
